Mike in the Book 2 Episode 3 Commentary

Mike DiMartino:
To be clear, we were never trying to say that Aang was a horrible, terrible parent! It’s more about how Kya and Bumi interpreted Aang’s absence. Because he was busy, he was busy being the Avatar. It’s this natural thing where he ended up taking Tenzin around the world because he was the second to last airbender at the time and wanted to make sure his culture continued on. It came out of a place of trying to keep his culture going which was very important to him. Maybe he overlooked spending some quality time with the other kids at one time or another, but it doesn’t mean he was a deadbeat dad.

Bryan in the Book 2 Episode 10 Commentary

Bryan Konietzko:
Iroh passed away, passed on; his physical life in Korra’s world ended. But the Spirit World is not just some catchall afterworld for humans. As we’ve seen with the Painted Lady…there are some spirits that started as humans…The idea is that very special people who are just already imbued with a lot of spiritual energy and/or cultivated it throughout their lives and developed a strong connection to the Spirit World can sort of transfer their personality to the Spirit World and embody some energy there. But I like the idea, kinda like the Painted Lady, she was much more ghost like and she had been around a lot longer in the Spirit World than Iroh, but I like the idea if you check in in another 100, 500, 1000 years, he’s not just going to stay frozen in time in this afterlife, he’s becoming more and more like a spirit, and evolving away from the human… The further away he is from the memory of his corporeal self, he’s becoming more and more like an essence.

New Projected Book 3 Schedule

dongbufeng:

With news that Nick is planning on airing 2 new Korra episodes a week, here is the new Book 3 projected schedule:

  • July 11: Episodes 4 & 5
  • July 18: Episodes 6 & 7
  • July 25: Episodes 8 & 9
  • August 1: Episodes 10 & 11
  • August 8: Episodes 12 & 13 (finale)

This is subject to change if Nick decides to not actually air two a week after a certain point, or if they decide to take a week off at some point.

KORRA SCHEDULE REVEALED.
Korra will air 2 episodes a week from 7/11-8/8.
Not the best news, broadcast wise, this season might be over before people know it’s happening.
Good news if you’re going to San DiegoComic Con as my prediction they might just show the rest of the season (at the time of Con, only 4 episodes will remain).
For the most part though, this announcement originating as a response from the Nick Twitter doesn’t bode well.
As of this morning, Book 3 is still not available on my preferred iTunes store.

As we plug every episode, Matt and I are co-hosts of a pop culture podcast called Fighting In The War Room.

This week, we spend about 15 minutes talking about The Legend of Korra, including a bid for our co-host Katey Rich of Vanity Fair to start watching.

She’s had some trouble engaging though, and we find out why in this clip.

Check out the whole episode HERE if you want more FITWR.

Amazon have listed the Korra 3DS game for preorder! The game will be titled The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins
A lot of people are thinking this game is out on December 31st because Amazon have listed the release date as that. This is not true. Amazon always use December 31st as a placeholder date for all preorders which don’t have a release date. An example of this would be that the games Smash Bros U & Rise of the Tomb Raider have both been listed by Amazon to release on December 31st even though they are both confirmed to not release on that date.
You can preorder The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins on Amazon USA only here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Legend-Korra-New-Era-Begins/dp/B00L86B56I
