Want to See (and Win) Some Brand New Korra Art?

imageIn anticipation of The Legend of Korra’s New York Comic Con panel, Nickelodeon commissioned comic book artist Geof Darrow to illustrate a new poster that did the show’s artistry justice. It’s a beaut. Colorful and detailed, it’s one of the loveliest tribute pieces I’ve seen from fans or hired guns. When the show says goodbye at the end of Book 4, lifewithout Korra would be a little easier if they picked it back up as a comic in the style of Shaolin Cowboy. Just saying (for those in charge who are listening).

I’m grateful for the chance to premiere the artwork on Screencrush, where I write weekly recaps of Legend of Korra. Check out the full image by clicking the cropped version. Oh, I forgot to mention the big piece of info here: We’re giving away prints signed by Geoff and you can win one. No Comic Con attendance required. Go to Screencrush, fill in your info and, boom, you’re entered. Feel free to tell a friend.

Talk to you guys later this week. Almost time for episode 2….

And just like last season, I’m recapping The Legend of Korra for Screencrush. You can read my “After All These Years” review right now (and feel free to leave me some comments over there too!).

We’ll be back with a new episode Sunday, sounding approximately three years older.

"Are you guys going to be recapping this season of Korra?"

I accidentally fielded this question on my own Tumblr, so how about I post here?

You betcha we’re recapping this season. It’s hard to beleive, but we’ll be back this Sunday with a brand new episode.

We know people have been asking for a Book 4 preview episode, but with “Balance” right around the corner, we thought it would be more fun to stick with the recapping/conversations rather than go hog wild with speculation (there will be plenty of that when the episodes start airing — prep your deathwatch hashtags now).

In the meantime, jump in the comments and scribble down your own theories!

Let’s Talk About Legend Of Korra Book 3: Change Finale

Legend of Korra’s two-part finale, “Enter the Void” and “Venom of the Red Lotus” is now online. WOW. That’s a finale. What did you think? Here’s my review over at Screencrush. I found the final beats to be hopeful. Others may interpret differently. That’s exciting! Throw down your reactions/insight/theories in the comments or reblogs. Lots to talk about here. We’ll be back with a new episode Sunday.
